The Best of The Amazing Kreskin

Now, let's get the confussion out of the way first. This is NOT the Friars Club DVD he released last year. This is a brand new 3 Disc DVD set of 20 of the best episodes from Kreskin's old TV show that ran from '71 - '77. I believe this is only a Canadian release (since the show was a Canadian production) but I believe you can find it on eBay for about $30 CND.

If you are old enough, you might remeber the TV show, I was born during the second season so I wasn't realy familiar with the show, but I knew of Kreskin from various late night talk show appearances. After watching everything on the disc, my admiration for Kreskin has skyrocketed. His showmanship, perfomance and likability is amazing. All of the effcts he does in the series were all done in one take. If something screws up with a card trick, he justs goes with it.

You'll laugh at the quality of the show (very low-budget) and the style of clothes (hey, it was the '70s). But you will enjoy all of his perfomances.

The 3rd disc is a bonus disc that has commentary from Kreskin, talking about his experiences on the show. I wish this was a seperate audio track on the actual episodes, but it's still enjoyable. Also on the bonus disc is selected effects from other episodes not included in the set. One of these is a great Muscle Reading effect.

As an additional bonus, the set included a reprint of Kreskins old Milton Bradley board game. If you have the Friars Club DVD, this is basically the same thing that is included in the DVD insert with the pendulum.

Excellent.  We mentioned this a loooong time ago as an upcoming product, but I didn't realize it was a Canadian-only product.  I'll be ordering this today for sure.
